Family Support Team Lead (Full-Time) BSW-NS Registration
Family SOS seeks a motivated, optimistic, progressive leader with a BSW NS (Current Registration) to join our team.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Family Support Team lead is a social worker who works from an attachment-based trauma-informed lens to ensure the team and agency adhere to the code of ethics and standards of practice.
The Family Support Team Lead coordinates and supervises the Individual Parenting Support Program and the Positive Parenting Groups. The Family Support Team Lead supports a well-established team of full and part-time service providers.
Key Contributions:
Leadership
Supports, leads, and mentors a strong team of Family Support Workers and families
Leads from a strength-based collaborative approach
Facilitates both individual and group supervision using a reflective approach
Builds and promotes a culture of wellness, compassion, support, and open dialogue
Parenting Support
Oversees and coordinates all parenting programs
Gathers information necessary for the completion of intakes using a narrative approach
Refers families to other community organizations as required, including system navigation
Completes needs assessments and prepares parenting plans based on client-identified goals
Supports clients with difficult life situations as they arise
Ensures client documentation is adequate and up to date
Maintains statistical information for stakeholders
Works collaboratively with community groups and organizations
Experience
3-5 years experience working in a Community Setting preferred
Works from a client-centered, strengths-based, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed holistic approach
Demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust and create a safe and secure environment
A collaborative and participatory work style and the ability to give and receive feedback
Strong moral and ethical values
Comprehensive understanding of attachment and relationships.
Circle of Security Facilitator training would be considered an asset.
Comprehensive knowledge of community resources, programs, and services, including Child & Family Services
Excellent critical thinking, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills are essential
Adheres to the NS College of Social Workers Standards of Practice and the Social Work Code of Ethics
Requirements
Bachelor of Social Work and registration with Nova Scotia College of Social Workers
3-5 years of experience working in a community setting
Valid Driverβs License with access to vehicle
Current Criminal Record Check, vulnerable sector check, and Child Abuse registry check.
First Aid/CPR Certification
Hours and Location
This position works both in-office at the Greystone Centre, and in community.
Travel throughout HRM required.
Evening and weekend work may be required at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid
