Meet Sarah MacEachen! Sarah started with Family SOS as a volunteer and has worked in several positions with the children and youth before moving into her current role as Program Coordinator. Sarah’s role is to develop programming for the Healthy Kidz and Healthy Teenz program, with her main focus being in the community of Spryfield. Sarah loves working with the children and youth and providing them with new and exciting opportunities to engage with their peers as well as their community. Sarah’s favorite part of her job is seeing the children experience new things and working together with the families and community to provide a fun and safe space for everyone. When Sarah is not working she is spending time with her family, chasing after her one-year-old daughter and exploring Nova Scotia’s beautiful forests with her dog. She enjoys hiking, reading, cooking and camping.

Meet Nicole Hankinson! Nicole is our Coordinator of Family Support Services and has been working with Family SOS since 2011. She ensures we provide best practices for all of our parenting programs, which includes both of the Positive Parenting Groups as well as our In Home Support Program. She listens to families’ stories and helps them identify parenting goals that are most important to them. She then works through how we can best support them in achieving those goals. Nicole has a two and three-year-old at home, so most of her time is spent chasing those two around, which she loves. When she does get some time to herself she enjoys reading, running and just being alone! Her favorite part of the job is seeing the renewed sense of hope and motivation within the family.
